7/Jan/2022 – “Ethics is Everyones’ Business” – email and document to Marc Waters & cc’d to Paul Early
This is the cover email and associated “Ethics” document asking Marc Waters to play a key role in making senior leadership interventions that will create a breakthrough for Digital pensioners, and that we also believe both he and Paul Early working collaboratively together is critical to enabling sustainable future discretionary increases.

Dear Marc,
Firstly, our best wishes to you, your family and work colleagues for 2022, especially after another difficult year for everyone.
As part of our continuing campaign, we are now submitting a “paper” entitled: “HPE : Ethics is everyone’s business – The time has come to act”.
As always, our aim is to provide a meaningful contribution towards facilitating dialogue between HPE executives and Trustee Directors whom we consider critical to finding a breakthrough.
We believe we have reached a tipping point – and the time has come for HPE leadership to review and examine the processes, values and ethics by which executives decide on the treatment of Digital pensioners.
Our paper reflects on the historical context and reasons why we believe there is a clear gap between the espoused values and ethics of the company leadership and the way in which discretionary decisions are made.
We believe the way forward is through a leadership intervention, by enlisting the support of the most appropriate values-based leader within the organisation, someone who is prepared to give this issue the time and thought required and willing to be the “champion for change” to achieve breakthrough.
We believe that you are the critical linchpin in finding breakthrough and hope that our paper convinces you to review the situation based on your own personal values and ethics and those communicated by Antonio Neri.
We remain convinced that a solution can be found and now appeal to you directly to be the catalyst within HPE that brings about positive change for ex-employees who were a critical part of the company’s successful history.
We have included Paul Early on this communication as we believe the two of you are the key characters to engage and work together to collectively champion and create the breakthrough required.
We look forward to your response on our appeal to you, the points and questions we raise and giving us the opportunity to meet with you in the near future to discuss the issues we have raised.
Kind Regards,
Alan Evans and the HPPA team
