Creating strong alignment with leadership ethics will alleviate a growing crisis in the UK

14/Jan/2022 – “Creating strong alignment with leadership ethics will alleviate a growing crisis in UK” –

This is the letter to Antonio Neri and cc’d to Marc Waters and Paul Early asking for his support and advocacy in enabling Marc Waters to make the leadership interventions required to alleviate the growing pensioner crisis in the UK.

As well as the main letter, we included an associated document entitled: “This crisis is very real and getting worse” which contains members comments from the original survey.

Dear Mr Neri,

Creating strong alignment with leadership ethics will alleviate a growing crisis in the UK

We are a group of pensioners who have made a formal plea for help to your UK Leadership Team led by Marc Waters.

We have asked Marc Waters to personally intervene and help establish a more collaborative and ethical way of working between the company and the Board of Trustee Directors of the HP UK Retirement Plan.

We believe there is a compelling need for improved collaboration and greater alignment with company ethics to alleviate the damaging impact that has been inflicted on a specific community of Digital retirees, people who have not received discretionary cost of living adjustments to their pensions for the past thirteen years, since 2009.

The lack of discretionary cost of living adjustments for so long has created a crisis which is rapidly becoming worse due to the impacts of the pandemic and rising inflation.

As indicated in the visual below – impacted pensioners are losing faith, confidence and trust in a company that once had a proud heritage and lived by its values and ethics.

We are at a tipping point – and it requires strong leadership intervention to turn this situation around.

We have provided Marc Waters with comprehensive detailed evidence of the impact on pensioners over their retirement lifetimes, analysis on how we believe this situation has come about, “benchmarking” with
other companies as well as a range solution-focused ideas and suggestions.

We firmly believe that the way in which this community of ex-employees has been impacted does not reflect the true values and ethics of current HPE leadership and that positive change is possible.

To help prevent this crisis growing further, we would very much appreciate your personal support and advocacy in a way that facilitates and better enables Marc Waters to bring about the systemic changes
required – and at the same time – further cascade and embed your personal and corporate ethics across the organisation and the inherent benefits that will naturally come from this.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards
Alan Evans on behalf of the Team
