Subject: Pensioners Still in Crisis!
Thank you for your recent reply to my message on behalf of the HPPA team.
You say that “the Company is aware of the situation regarding the Plan’s pensioner population who receive ‘pre ‘97’ pension benefits” and if you had read the individual statements of hardship in the ‘Roadmap to Recovery’ presentation, then we would be keen to hear what you are prepared to do to resolve the issue.
You also state that “The company position therefore remains as has been previously communicated to you ” We would like you to reiterate that for us as our recollections may vary.
You referred us to the Trustee who, in turn, refer us to HPE, it is only in the gift of the company to change your pensioner’s plight.
The 2,500 members of HPPA do not view the Trustee as adequately representing the interests of the pension plan members, rather, the interests of the plans’ trust and HPE.
In a message I sent to Antonio Neri in 2018 outlining the treatment of UK pensioners he replied “I appreciate your perspectives including your request for a complete explanation of the basis for our decisions. I am asking our UK leadership team to review your message and contact you directly with additional information.” Regrettably, we still await a full explanation of the company policy and key criteria used in determining discretionary pension payments.
I’d once again like to offer you the opportunity to provide this information and would be more than happy to sit down with you to hear it first-hand.Best regards,Alan Evans
